Terms
The deal, in plain English.
Vellum Studio is free to use. These terms cover the few things that need to be clear: your account, what you upload, what we may do with it, and what happens if either side stops.
Last updated: 28 October 2026
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using the editor you agree to these terms and to the privacy page. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
Vellum Studio is a browser design editor: multi-page artboards, templates, snapping, masks, brand kits, comments, share links and export to PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF and ZIP. It is free, needs no card, adds no watermark, and exports come from the document you actually edited at the size you picked.
The editor runs in your browser; accounts exist so your work can be saved, versioned and shared. There is no paid tier hidden behind a trial.
3. Your account
Use an email address you can actually receive mail at, because that is how the account is identified. Keep your password to yourself: every action taken with your session is treated as yours. One account per person; do not share credentials. You must be at least 16 years old.
You can change your password at any time in settings, which also ends every other session, and you can delete the account yourself from the same page.
4. Your content
What you design, upload and write stays yours. You give us only the licence needed to run the service for you: to store your document, render it in your browser, produce your exports, show it on a share link you created, and keep the versions you asked for. That licence ends when you delete the content.
You confirm you have the rights to the photographs, logos, fonts and text you upload or paste. Do not upload someone else's work without permission.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use Vellum Studio for anything unlawful, for malware or phishing, for hateful or harassing material, for sexual content involving minors, or to infringe copyright or trademarks. Do not try to reach another account, probe or overload the service, run automated scraping that degrades it for other people, or resell it as your own product.
We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules, and we will say why unless a legal order prevents it.
6. AI assistance
The optional AI art-director returns an editable starting layout. It can be wrong, generic or unsuitable, and it is not legal, medical or financial advice. Check anything you publish. We do not promise that generated material is unique or free of third-party rights, and the hourly limit exists so one account cannot spend the whole budget.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service up and your data intact, and we take backups of the database, but the free tier carries no uptime SLA. Features may change, and a feature may be removed when it is replaced by a better one. Planned maintenance is kept short and is not used to hide data loss.
8. Ending use
You can stop at any time and delete your account and data from settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, attacks the service, or is required to be closed by law. If we close an account for anything other than a breach, we tell you first and give you time to export your work.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or loss of content that you did not export. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your mandatory consumer rights, fraud, or wilful misconduct.
Keep your own copy of anything irreplaceable: the export buttons are there for exactly that reason.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Greece, and the courts of Athens have jurisdiction, without taking away the consumer protections you have where you live.
